Purpose

People on this earth have the obligation to make things go well for everyone and everything, including oneself. When we are born, we depend on connections to be cared for and to survive. It helps us to not feel scared about being alive. Being new to this world can be scary, and the more connected we feel, the less we feel scared. As babies we will never not feel scared about our survival, which is why even the most connected baby eventually will have to face it’s fragile situation which no amount of love and care can remedy. Therefore, unless something goes terribly wrong, we have an innate drive to connect in order to feel secure in this world, and we develop the ability to do so by mimicking others - mostly our primary caretakers. Whenever we don’t feel secure, we try to distract ourselves by running away from things as they are. We go shopping and do all these things modern life has to offer. Not that any of these things are per se bad, and not that distracting ourselves is per se bad, but if we are not aware of what we are doing, it will lead to bad outcomes for us and others.
